The Fine Line by Josse Willems

Hi there! My name is Josse Willems. I am a Utrecht-based graphic designer and illustrator. I gather my inspiration from daily life, which for me includes nature, people, feelings, energies, meditation and my fascination with the universe.  

My autonomous work often contains lines. A lot of lines. And dots. And even more lines. Together, these lines form geometric patterns. Each of them contains information and tells its own story. For me as a creator, and for you as a viewer, my work can have a meditative effect. I intend to create art that resonates with those parts of you that want to be experienced. I achieve this through creating patterns that have similarities with sacred geometry.  

Sacred geometry is about universal patterns that we can see in everything around us. It is the blueprint of all that is, including us humans. So, you could say you and I are geometry. When we look at or connect with geometry, it can resonate with our own human system. In a way, my drawings are an energetic exchange of frequencies. Which is why it resonates with certain feelings, energies or levels of consciousness.  

And besides this very deep story, it just looks really cool!

On November 3rd we’re organizing a festive opening of the exhibition at KEEK with a presentation, drinks and snacks. You’re welcome to join from 20:00 and the official opening will be at 20:30, after which there will be enough time to look at the art, talk and spend time together. Hope to see you there :)
