A Library of Colour Combinations by Sanne Kaal

Graduated as a product designer with a great interest in photography, Sanne Kaal has always focussed on innovatively exploring various materials. Where aesthetics and functionality are in balance, she gives rise to designs that frequently serve as fragments of ongoing research rather than results. Her fascination with colour combinations and the photographic documentation of products, objects, and surroundings are a tool to initiate any of these projects.

Her latest research resulted in ‘Laser glazing’: a new technique to glaze ceramics by using a computer-controlled laser. For the first time, she will take you through the full circle of her design process: starting with an image, experimenting with colour combinations, creating unique finishes, and showing the possibilities of application.

A Library of Colour Combinations will present a peek into Sanne’s archive of experiments, focusing on combining colours and materials, traditional crafts, and innovative techniques.  Join the festive opening of this exhibition on the 8th of March, 20h at Twijnstraat 23 in Utrecht!
